Class: December 7, 2010

For today's class, I would like you to refine your idea for your final project. First, I would like you to find a few samples of texts are similar to what you hope to produce for your final project. Then, I would like you to write in the comments a more detailed description of your project. Be specific about things like topic, length, audience, approach, etc.

For Thursday's shortened class (beginning at 4:45), please pick the best post from each of your classmate's blogs.

  1. I am going to start an account on Women's Fashion Forum at fanpop. I will be posting about the hottest fashions for winter at four select stores. I plan on including pictures and prices.

  2. I'll be opening an account on Open Salon and focusing on, i was thinking, a call to the secular basis of Christmas, with plenty of evidences that christmas is based on the winter solstice and pagan traditions and not this newcomer "christ" who just appeared on the scene and thought everything revolved around him. I was thinking maybe a post, as well, on a call to a return to the secular roots of this country by upholding the ethical perspectives of the constitution of the United States. I don't want to make these outright "Atheism" posts, but just lack of religion, because that is what our country is, that is what it should be, and that is kind of laid out in our constitution very clearly. I'll try to focus on details! and evidence!

  3. I will be starting a Youtube account specifically for posting craft tutorials. I'll be making a video on how to make something. I need to decide what I will be making, but the video will show each step of the process. I will also post the video on my blog and link the Youtube page with my blog.

  4. I am planning to post a few movie reviews on Open Salon. I'm thinking of posting reviews of The Expendables, Inception, and possibly one other movie. The length of my posts will be about the same length as the movie reviews on my blog (about 300-500 words). I will be writing in a thoughtful manner and possibly incorporating humor into my writing. I will likely compare certain aspects of the films I review with those of other films.
